About the course

Global Sanitation Graduate School (GSGS project) at School of Engineering, Kathamandu University is delivering the Online course in Faecal Sludge Management in collaboration with IHE-Delft and the program is supported by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

The objective of the course is to gain an understanding of all the required aspects for the design and operation of a comprehensive Faecal Sludge Management (FSM) system.

Intended Participants

The course is designed for professionals who deal with planning, promoting, designing, operating or managing faecal sludge for residents in urban, peri-urban, slum or rural areas, in low income countries and beyond. A solid foundation in physics and chemistry is essential to follow this course; a good understanding of wastewater and its (biological) treatment will strongly support the understanding of the Module.

Course Structure

Note: Participants will have to complete two online tests one at the middle and other at the end of all sub courses. Each sub-unit questions carry 10 marks. At least 50% mark is to be achieved to pass the exam.
Besides, participants will have to submit an Assignment related to FSM. Assignment will be probided by the course coordinator.
A Certificate of Completion will be awarded to successfull candidates.
